As of Friday, 27 November Transport for London (Tfl) has started work on pedestrian improvements at Bow interchange and along part of Bow Rd and Stratford High Street.
The plan is to install new signal crossings on Bow Rd and Stratford High St and unsignaled crossings will be removed on the A12 Blackwall Tunnel Northern Approach slip roads. Crossings to link Stratford High St and Bow Road will be across the roundabout traffic island.
The work is in two stages:
27 November – 29 December: existing signals will be removed and replaced with temporary signals
4 January – 30 June: Between 8am-5pm and between 10pm-5am, with noisy work completed by midnight. There will be some night-time road closures and day-time and night-time lane closures.
If you have any questions, you can contact Tfl via its website: tfl.gov.uk/contact or phone 0343-222-1234

Thanks for posting this Tania. I for one find TfL’s notification to residents of ongoing works appalling. Does anyone else?
There was a flyer posted through doors, which isn’t great (I mean, who reads all that rubbish?). However, that’s what counts as “community consultation/notification” these days!
I suspect that the night works will be very loud: unlike Crossrail there aren’t the same rules around noise levels, etc when it comes to highways works. Those living right by the Bow roundabout will have some sleepless nights in 2016!
