Support Our Objection To The 96-Home Development Bordering Grove Hall Park

Note: this was posted in 2015 – the application was approved with minor alterations and work on construction on the final part of the development started in late 2016

The Fairfield Conservation Area Residents’ Association (FCARA) plans to submit an objection to the new 96-dwelling development planned for 219-221 Bow Road and 27-31 Payne Road (Application PA/14/03660) which will border Grove Hall Park and the Memorial Garden, and we’d love your support.

FCARA’s comments/requests are based on our view that this development will not preserve or enhance the character of the Fairfield Road Conservation Area. We are not averse to new development and acknowledge the need to address what is an acute shortage of housing (particularly affordable) in London but this is big and will have a huge impact on the park, which is a precious and well-loved little piece of green.

Our objection includes recommendations to scale back this development so it’s not as big (it’ll be up to five storeys high) and intrusive (large windows and balconies on the properties looking out over the park and surrounding developments).

Please read the submission attached and if you agree, you can use the contact form below to add your name to the objection. The deadline is Wednesday, 18 February so we can get the objection and list of supporters to the council by 19 February. If you’re having trouble using the contact form, please email your name and address and any comments you have to tania@easternkicks.com instead.
