The Boishakhi Mela returns to Weavers Fields on Sunday 14 May.
This annual community celebration of music, performance and dance is a key event in Tower Hamlets’ cultural calendar. The free, family-friendly festival is expected to attract more than 60,000 revelers.
Enjoy the best of Bengali inspired traditional and contemporary music and dance from international and UK-based artists, as well as arts and crafts and food stalls, a funfair and the Family and Arts Zone – a tranquil family area and hub for FREE arts workshops, performances and sports.
The event kicks off with a parade, which starts in Allen Gardens, Buxton Street, at 11am and will progress along Brick Land, Old Montague Street and and Vallance Road before ending at Weavers Fields at midday.
