Draft Neighbourhood Plan Recommended for referendum by Independent Examiner<\/b><\/div>\n

After more than 6 years of community engagement, research and writing, the finalised neighbourhood plan for Bow has now been scrutinized by an independent examiner. The examiner required the Forum to make some minor modifications – to improve some maps and add small amounts of\u00a0 text, but concluded:<\/p><\/div>\n

‘I recommend that the Plan, once modified, proceeds to referendum on the basis that it has met all the relevant legal requirements.’<\/b><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n
\u00a0It is hoped that the Council cabinet\u00a0 will make a decision on <\/span>1st August<\/span>,<\/b>\u00a0accepting the examiner’s recommendation for a local referendum on the plan has to take place. According to the regulations, this would need to be by mid October.\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n
Everyone will be able to vote who is entitled to vote in local Council elections and lives in the plan area (Bow East and Bow West wards, excluding Fish island)..<\/div>\n

If a majority vote in favour of the plan, it will guide decisions over the use and development of land and planning applications in Bow to 2031. it will.be<\/a> part of the statutory development plan for the area, sitting under the Tower Hamlets Local Plan 2031 and the London Plan 2021 .<\/div>\n
