{"id":2544,"date":"2020-10-13T14:14:37","date_gmt":"2020-10-13T14:14:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fcara.org.uk\/?p=2544"},"modified":"2020-10-13T14:14:37","modified_gmt":"2020-10-13T14:14:37","slug":"have-your-say-on-local-parking-proposals-by-26-october","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fcara.org.uk\/?p=2544","title":{"rendered":"Have your say on local parking proposals by 26 October"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sick of coming home on the weekend or in the evening and not being able to find a parking spot?<\/p>\n<p>It seems you are not alone &#8211; and Tower Hamlets now wants our feedback on some proposals which could see parking restrictions extended for longer, and on Saturdays.<\/p>\n<p>The Fairfield Conservation Area is part of <strong>Parking Zone B2<\/strong> at the moment. It&#8217;s residents-only permit parking in this zone Monday-Friday from 8.30am-5.30pm. The council is proposing making this area part of a <strong>new zone, B5 <\/strong>(see the image below for details).<\/p>\n<p>And they want us to know what we prefer of the following three options:<br \/>\n<strong>Option 1:<\/strong> Parking restrictions extended to Monday to Saturday from 8.30am-7.30pm. Some single yellow lines will be converted to double yellow lines<br \/>\n<strong>Option 2:<\/strong> Parking restrictions extended to Monday to Saturday from 8.30am-9.30pm. Some single yellow lines will be converted to double yellow lines<br \/>\n<strong>Option 3:<\/strong> No change<\/p>\n<p>The council said that the following issues have been raised (including by our very own residents&#8217; association &#8211; see previous posts):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lack of parking spaces for residents coming home in the early evening<\/li>\n<li>Non-residents using parking during the weekend &#8211; especially when there are events at the Olympic park<\/li>\n<li>The restrictions are not long enough each day: people without a permit can park pretty easily if they leave for work by 8.30am and come back after 5.30pm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The proposed changes will affect everyone in the area, including those of us who don&#8217;t own a car, so the council wants to hear from as many of us as possible.<\/p>\n<p>You can respond using the form delivered to households recently.
