{"id":1053,"date":"2016-07-29T09:21:11","date_gmt":"2016-07-29T09:21:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fcara.org.uk\/?p=1053"},"modified":"2016-07-29T09:24:28","modified_gmt":"2016-07-29T09:24:28","slug":"help-stop-the-concrete-factory-plans-for-the-olympic-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fcara.org.uk\/?p=1053","title":{"rendered":"Help Stop The Concrete Factory Plans For The Olympic Park!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last year a planning application was submitted to create London&#8217;s largest concrete and asphalt factory &#8211; right at the centre of the Olympic Park,\u00a0and\u00a0right\u00a0opposite\u00a0our homes.<\/p>\n<p>This development would have a dramatic impact on the local area and residents, creating\u00a0three concrete batching plants and an asphalt production plant\u00a0next to \u00a0heavily used green space.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed plants, which will be next door to London Athletics and the new UCL East campus,\u00a0will run\u00a024 hours a day,\u00a0seven days a week, with an estimated 900 heavy vehicles coming and going daily.<\/p>\n<p>A group called the <strong>Olympic Park Coalition for Responsible Development<\/strong> <strong>(OPCRD), <\/strong>made up of people who live and work in the Bow-Wick Lane-Fish Island-Stratford community<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>has been set up to fight this proposal and they need your support.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.opcrd.org\/\">You can check out their website for all the details here<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/mayor-of-london-stop-the-plan-to-build-4-concrete-asphalt-factories-next-to-olympic-park\">Or sign their petition on change.org via this link.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>We\u00a0plan to discuss this\u00a0at the next residents&#8217; association meeting on 17 September at Bow Church.\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nThe proposal is scheduled for review before the London Legacy Development Corporation&#8217;s (LLDC) planning committee as early as <strong>27<\/strong> <strong>September<\/strong>.
